Vice President Yemi Osinbao has reacted to criticisms trailing the $1bn approved by the Nigerian Governors Forum for the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency.
The vice president said the NGF approved the fund for national security after a national security summit organised by the National Economic Council.
Osinbajo spoke on Tuesday at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja at the commencement of a retreat of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation/Secretaries to State Governments.
He said: “It was after a national security summit of the National Economic Council that governors at their forum decided to approve some money for national security."
