The Oyo State House of Assembly on Thursday at the plenary sacked the Caretaker Chairmen of the 33 Local Governments (LGAs).

Hon. Monsurat Sunmonu, the Speaker of the House representing Oyo East/West made the pronouncement during the session.

"The Caretaker Chairmen of all LGAs in the state should step down immediately and the Head of Local Government Administration (HLA) should take-over," she said.

Late last year, the house extended the tenure of the chairmen by six months.

The speaker said that the Auditor-General of the local government in the state should appear before Parliamentary Caucus next week Monday with audited reports of the LGAs.

Meanwhile, Hon. Azeez Adesope (APC) representing Oorelope Constituency at the plenary called on the state governor, Abiola Ajimobi to end the strike embacked upon by JUSUN to avoid further delay in the administration justice.

``I hereby appeal to the state governor to use his good office to re-open negotiation with JUSUN so that the workers can return to work," he said.

He reasoned that since other states had resolved the industrial disputes with their judicial workers, Oyo state should follow suit.

"Especially in this period of campaign when crime is on the increase, we don't want our cells to be congested," he said.

He said that there were so many cases pending in the courts, adding that this was not good for the administration of justice in the state. The house later adjourned till Tuesday next week.
