The parents of a 10-yr-old girl were charged with attempted murder after they made her swim continuously in a dam near Bloemfontein in South Africa while they watched from the sidelines.
When the girl complained of tiredness, she was assaulted and forced to continue.
The mother could face up to 10 years in jail for the charges which includes assault.
The girl is now in foster care.
