Sports Poor Man Utd lose 2-1 at Stoke

Manchester United suffered yet another defeat in the English Premier League losing 2-1 to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.

The defeat was United's eight of the season, their first loss to Stoke since the Premier League commenced, which compounded to David Moyes' misery.

With the trio of Robin Van Persie,Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney all in the starting line up for Manchester United, they hardly stepped down to gear two, with Stoke resolute in the game.

Mark Hughes' side took the lead after Charlie Adams' free-kick deflected off Michael Carrick to beat a wrong-footed David De Gea to go into net.

United's game was made more difficult after Moyes had to rejig his game-plan following injuries to central defensive pair of Johnny Evans and Phil Jones, both leaving the game in the first half.

However United got a lifeline, equalising early on in the second half with a well taken goal from Van Persie, collecting a pass from Mata to beat Asmir Begovic and level 1-1.

But Stoke didn't deter, taking the game back to United . Adams grabbed his second of the game, belting in a screamer to beat De Gea and gave his side a 2-1 lead.

The home side endured United's onslaught and tenaciously held on to their lead,Rooney came very close to equalising but Begovic got a hand to his free-kick to push it off the bar.

It was another defeat for United as they failed to close the gap on the top four, losing further grounds on top four.
