Samsung's flagship device, the Galaxy S7 Active has failed a water resistance test, Consumer Reports says.

Samsung had claimed that the device can survive under 5 feet of water for 30 minutes.

However, the device stopped working after being put in a tank that simulated the effect of being about 5ft (1.5m) underwater. When removed after half an hour, the first phone's display was non-responsive and marred by green lines. Bubbles had also formed in its two camera lenses.

The same test is repeated on another piece of Samsung S7 Active. It was also damaged.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 active is a variant of the popular Samsung Galaxy S7. It was released in June, 2016 and goes for $900 (that's about 260,000 naira).
