An extended family member of Mayowa Ahmed has spoken about the controversy about her fund raising campaign.
According to her family, the campaign isn't a scam as widely reported. Her cousin (who spoke) said the money will be used to try to save Mayowa no matter what the case is.
He said the family is trying to send her to Abu Dhabi (and other places which aren't too far) instead of Atlanta, as she's too weak to go all the way to Atlanta.
He said the family hasn't given up on her.
He also said the family would get a trustee who will manage the fund and that they wouldn't have access to the fund. He added that she'll be out of the country as soon as her visa is ready.
