Republican Senator John McCain has won a sixth term in Arizona after a tumultuous race in which he frequently clashed with GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
He defeated centrist Democratic Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick in what he termed as one of the toughest races of his political career.
Mr. McCain, 80 years old, won with 52.5% of the vote, compared with 42.1% for Ms. Kirkpatrick, with 24% of precincts reporting, according to the Associated Press.

In his victory message, he said: “One message came through loud and clear in this election, is that Americans want progress now.”
