Kaduna state is on a red alert for the bird flu virus.
Dahiru Abdullahi, the Information Officer, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Development said government officials are monitoring the state to curtail possible spread of bird flu, following reported outbreak of the disease on a small farm.
“While adequate measures are being taken by the livestock department of the ministry, the affected farm had since been isolated to curtail the virus from spread.
“We are also sensitizing poultry farmers to report any sign of the virus on their farms to officials of the ministry.”
