Ekiti state governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has revealed that he has N300m in one of his Zenith bank accounts, as claimed by the EFCC.

The EFCC had alleged that Fayose personally moved N300m from the N1.2bn he got from the NSA to a fixed deposit account in April 2015.

However, Fayose said he's had the N300m before he became governor.

“I declared in my assets declaration form that I had N300m in my fixed deposit account in Zenith Bank," he was quoted as saying by his spokesman, Lere Olayinka.

He also denied getting money from the NSA.

“I did not get money from the NSA Office to fund my election. It is just a conspiracy; it will fail like that of 2006,"

“By the end of this month, we are starting a social welfare scheme in which 7,000 people will be getting N5, 000 per month," he added.
