The Nigerian Airforce has flown the freed 21 Chibok girls to Abuja from Maiduguri.

President Buhari shortly before taking off to Germany for his official visit welcome the release of the girls but cautioned Nigerians to be mindful of the fact that more than 30,000 fellow citizens were killed via terrorism.

"The release of the girls, in a limited number is the outcome of negotiations between the administration and the Boko Haram terrorists", he said on his twitter timeline.

DSS DG, Malam Lawal Daura is expected to hand over the girls to the Vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo at the Statehouse.
