Rotimi Akeredolu has shocked the leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to emerged the governorship candidate of the party in Ondo State following today’s primary election held amidst tight security in the capital of Akure.

Akeredolu had in an interview granted to PUNCH on Saturday morning said he will shock the former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for not supporting his political ambition.

Recall that Bola Tinubu and the state party chairman, Kekemeke was allegedly believed to have thrown their weight behind Olusegun Abraham which generated so much tension within the party where the primary poll was shifted from the initial date.

Akeredolu pulled 664 votes while Olusola Oke 583 and 635 Olusegun Abraham.

Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State, the chairman primary election committee of the party that monitored the exercise, announced Mr. Akeredolu as the winner of the poll at the international event center moments ago.

Twenty-four aspirants jostled for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the primary election held on Saturday.

Others inlcude: Oke Olusola, Olabimtan Victor, Boye Oyewunmi, Ajayi Borrofice, Olusegun Abraham; Tayo Alasoadura; Bode Ayorinde, Akinwale Akingbade, Akinrinsola Odunayo,Bukola Adetula; Niyi Adegbonmire; Foluso Adefemi, Akinola Olayinka; Tunji Ariyo.

Tinubu cannot always have his way, that's what the people of Ondo told him through their votes. But then, we know the next governor already.
