The Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reached out to ex President Goodluck Jonathan to intervene in the leadership crisis rocking the party, Vanguard reports.
Sheriff and his group would be meeting with Jonathan, who had deliberately stayed away from partisan politics since his defeat in the last presidential election, in furtherance of earlier contacts made by a former South-South Deputy National Chairman of the party , Dr. Cairo Ojugbo regarding the matter.
Senator Buruji Kashamu and Senator Sheriff also met on Friday to discuss how to broker peace with the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee, Vanguard added.
