The Kogi State Police Command on Thursday arrested four persons for allegedly attempting to defraud a rector at Federal Polytechnic, Idah, posing as officials of the EFCC.
The suspects are Samuel Ogbebor, Daniel Njaiji, Agwai Peter and Jackson Umosen who claimed to be officials of the Federal Ministry of Education who were on inspection in the institution.
The Acting Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Mr Austin Evbakhavbakun said that the case was reported at the Idah Divisional Police Headquarters by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Prof. Matthew Akpata, on Aug. 28.
The culprits were found with a stolen ATM card, a registered and unregistered Toyota camry
He said that the suspects, including two others, arrested for other offenses were undergoing interrogation and would be charged to court soon.
