Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has said that Sami Khedira is his best choice player to replace injured Luka Modric over the upcoming months.
Modric is set to be on the sidelines for almost three months following an injury he picked up while on international duty with Croatia.
The former AC Milan coach has always preferred the German to Asier Illarramendi, which was clear for all to see in Lisbon back in May when the World Cup winner got the nod to start the final when short of match fitness although the Spaniard was fully fit and had featured regularly in previous weeks.
The fact that Khedira is out of contract next summer will not influence Ancelotti decision whether to field the German.
