He said the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo had also been in touch with Dalung to express condolences on behalf of himself and the government and people of Nigeria.

Akande quoted Osinbajo as describing the deceased as a strong pillar of support for her husband.

He said Buhari and Osinbajo prayed that God give Dalung and his family the strength to bear the "untimely loss."

According to him, they also assured the minister "that Nigeria stands with him and the entire family at this difficult time."
