Mr Timothy Nsirim, Chairman Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria and his 17 Councillors yesterday refused to vacate office in compliance with the dissolution of the local government council by Governor Rotimi Amaechi on Thursday night.
Meanwhile according to Vanguard, Mr Singer Azubuike, Head of the Local Government Administration, yesterday told newsmen at an interactive session in Government House, Port Harcourt that he was now incharge of the Obio Akpor Council.
He said, “The recent announcement of the governor dissolving the council and handing over to the Head of Local Government Administration is in accordance with the law. Nobody should pay revenue to individuals. There are designated banks to pay revenues to”.
