Mark Mentors have dethroned the defending champions, Kano Pillars at the just concluded DSTV Premier Basket Ball League Final 8.
Mentors defeated Kano Pillars 79-66 in a keenly contested match but that was dominated by the champions since the jump off of the game.
Both teams were in the same situation last season but Pillars stole the title with a slight point margin and the Mentors have taken a revenge for their last season's loss.
Meanwhile, Abdul Yahaya of Mark Mentors was crowned the most valuable player for the tournament following his impressive performance in the championship which in turn earned him a call-up to the squad of the senior national basketball team.
And according to rankings, Mark Mentors are number one while Kano Pillars and Gombe Bulls are second and third respectively- all from the Savanna conference.
Added to the trophy, the champions will be rewarded with a sum of #1million naira, while Kano Pillars will get #750,000.
